Products made with care.
I've always enjoyed working with my hands. I first realized a love of woodworking as a young adult, working as a custom framer making ornate frames, building custom shadow boxes, and cutting intricate mats. I did this while I was in college to pay the bills. As years went by, I went on to work for a non-profit helping people with brain injuries. I never lost my love of woodworking with my hands. In my spare time, I went on to rebuild a small cabin, renovate homes and make gifts for family. A couple of years ago, while working to help finish my basement, I stumbled onto some live edge slabs of cherry and mesquite at Berkshire Products up in Sheffield, MA. I made a custom bar and had the opportunity to work with live edge. I was hooked! The beauty of the grain and the wildness of the edge made it all so much more appealing- both aesthetically and with which to work. None of my pieces are ever stained with pigment because the natural beauty of the wood speaks for itself. I still use Berkshire Products to source my materials. All of their wood is kiln-dried and they carry some of the rarest species in the world. I spend my free time in my workshop which brings me a moment of peace in an otherwise crazy day. I opened up a website and an etsy shop as a way to keep doing what I love, and do some custom work. Check it out, and if you are local, stop by. I'm happy to deliver larger pieces in Connecticut and most of Massachusetts. Thanks for stopping by!
